Measurements in Recipes

One thing we find difficult when we cook using recipes from magazines ,books or sites are the difficulty in understanding or rather taking correct measurements. And the tricky part is when it is in grams, worse if it is in ounces, lbs etc..
For the time being i have conversions from Grams to cups which i came across in a regional magazine and am posting that here.

125gm rice = 1 cup rice
100 gm wheat flour  = 1 cup wheatflour
50 gm Dal/Beans - 1/3 cup beans/dal
125gm chickpeas- 1 cup chickpeas
200gm milk-1 cup milk
20gm milk powder-1/4 cup milk powder
150 gm butter-1 cup butter
100gm curd-1/2 cup curd
150gm oil- 1 cup oil

Some more i found on the  web

1/8 cup = 2 tablespoons
1/4 cup = 4 tablespoons
1/3 cup = 5 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon
1/2 cup = 8 tablespoons
2/3 cup = 10 tablespoons + 2 teaspoons
3/4 cup = 12 tablespoons
7/8 cup = 1 cup less 2 tablespoons
3 teaspoons = 1 tablespoon
1 pint = 2 cups
1 quart = 2 pints or 4 cups
1 gallon = 4 quarts

Hope  this is useful.
